What Customers Say About Sony ICFC705 AM/FM Clock Radio (White):

There are some neat features especially the "nap" timer. Super easy to manually set the time, alarms, etc. I LOVE this clock radio. Great to not have to reset your alarm like you do with other clocks. Much easier than I had prepared for. The sound is great even for a single mono speaker. The External connection is safe and hidden out of the way. Overall I LOVE this clock.

Its a Sony product that delivers a digital alarm clock radio for a fair price. You can hook up any device such as a phone, iphone, blackberry, mp3 player, anything with a 3.5mm headphone jack to use as external speakers which is a nice plus. I have also noticed that when I have my Blackberry device within a foot of it, it will cause interference, making the radio sound staticky which is annoying. The only real issue I have with this item is the display; the display is bright, like another reviewer had noted, its bright enough to be a night-light.All-in-all I do recommend this product.

I had difficulty programming this clock radio. As with a lot of things, there's a learning curve. I do, however, like the "musical" selections for the alarm.

The automatic time set did not work for my central time zone, so I had to manually set it. The radio stations are manually set - they don't automatically scan. took me about 45 minutes.

You can adjust the brightness of the LED screen, which is a good feature and the numbers are quite easy to read. Aesthetically, it's about as basic as you can get. The sound quality is not wonderful - very tinny.

Setting the alarm can be tricky. Be patient.

I could overlook the poor sound quality if I could at least get decent reception. I was looking forward to the digital tuning and improved appearance. I bought this clock as a replacement for my old Sony Dream Machine purchased new many years ago. I live in the middle of San Francisco, a city with dozens of powerful radio stations and I have problems getting most of them without static. Unfortunately, the sound quality is far below my old radio. It has a tinny, metallic sound. Moving the power cord around can help but requires much fussiness. Sadly, as much as I have historically been a Sony loyalist, their heyday from the 80's appears to be long over.I would not recommend this radio to anyone.

When we turned it to radio, however, it was still just as bad--FM sounds like AM. This seemed to be the ticket and it was small enough not to take up too much space. I was looking for a clock radio with digital tuning and an audio-in cord option for my Sanza Fuze. I had a battery operated transistor radio in the late seventies and this new Sony sounds EXACTLY like that old transistor. When it was first turned on I noticed how scratchy and tinny it sounded. I was concerned that the Fuze connection cord was causing the problem. My husband pointed out that it is not stereo (one small speaker up front), and so I shouldn't compare it to my other two-speaker Sony clock radios, but honestly, even two of these speakers would be irritating. This has been returned, which is unusual for me, since I hate paying for return shipping.
